STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebration may be heading into history, but one Staten Island, N.Y., attorney and his wife will savor the memory for a lifetime.
Jonathan D’Agostino and his wife, Jade, recently traveled to London, where they took part in the celebration of the Queen’s 60 years on the throne as guests of ABC TV.

“Each guest was given a wicker basket containing a cooler,” D’Agostino said. “The Royal munchies included chicken spread, vegetables, crackers fruit and more.”
Champagne, beer and various soft drinks were generously poured for the mingling guests.

A steel drum band and a symphony band each performed on the outskirts of the property, providing background music.
This Royal invitation likely will become a keepsake for the D’Agostinos.
Following the picnic was the Diamond Jubilee Concert. Gates opened at 3:30 p.m. for a brief tour of the property.
Guests were then escorted to the most-watched event of the weekend, attracting millions of additional viewers worldwide.
“We were sitting 10 rows in front of the Royal Box that contained the Royal family,” D’Agostino said. “Truthfully, I didn’t know whether to pay attention to the performers on stage or the reactions of the Royal family behind me.”
Nearly 70,000 guests were thrilled by the celebrity-filled concert featuring: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey, to name just a few.
“The evening was capped of by the biggest fireworks show I have ever seen in my life,” D’Agostino said. “Everything was perfectly choreographed over Buckingham Palace.”
