STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Three members of the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) were recently inducted into the newly launched New York State Association of Realtors’ (NYSAR) Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame.

Past SIBOR presidents George K. Wonica, Sari Kingsley and Dawn Carpenter received the honor during NYSAR’s annual Mid-Winter Business Meetings, Feb. 11 through Feb.14, at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center, Albany.

Each was recognized for their ongoing commitment and lifetime investments in RPAC.

SIBOR also was recognized for its commitment to RPAC. Traci Cangiano, president of SIBOR, accepted the Crystal Apple Award on behalf of the Island organization. SIBOR earned the recognition by raising the most dollars on behalf of RPAC in 2012 among Realtor boards of its size.

“I applaud my fellow SIBOR members’ induction into the newly inaugurated New York State Association of Realtors’ Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame, as well as the ongoing accomplishments of SIBOR,” Mrs. Cangiano said.

Out of 45,000 Realtors in the state, only 23 were given the Hall of Fame honor, said honoree Mrs. Kingsley.

“It was quite exciting to receive the award with a standing ovation from the General Session attendees,” she said.

RPAC works for Realtors in city hall, Albany and Washington, D.C.

Contributions to RPAC support federal, state and local lawmakers who share the Realtor commitment to promoting homeownership and private property rights.
