Thompkinsville-based firm banks on its experience and reputation

for helping communities run smoothly

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — DOORtoDOOR Realty, a real estate and community-development company known for its innovative revitalization of neighborhoods in New York City, has expanded into the property-management arena.

DOORtoDOOR executives Sabrina Hamilton and her husband, George Christo, have helped to re-establish Staten Island’s North Shore as a commercial and residential destination.

“We have responsibly delivered every service expected of a top-notch commercial and residential management company for years, but only to those communities where we’ve spearheaded renewal and growth,” said George Christo, founder and CEO of the Thompkinsville-based firm. “The creation of DOORtoDOOR’s property management division (DOOR2DOOR) is a sensible business response to landlords, entire communities and homeowners’ organizations seeking to benefit from the same high-quality, cost-effective, all-inclusive services we’ve built our reputation upon.”

DOORtoDOOR stands apart from some other development firms because of its close personal ties to the community.

Christo is recognized locally for helping to re-establish Staten Island’s North Shore as a commercial and residential destination. In October 2011, he and his wife, visual artist and architectural designer Sabrina Hamilton, opened the popular 4 St. Paul’s Café and Gallery on the street level of a sophisticated five-apartment complex they restored under the umbrella of DOORtoDOOR. The couple have remained in the community, and their firm continues to manage the 4 St. Paul Street property along with other sites it has redeveloped in the borough.

In January 2012, Christo and Ms. Hamilton paid tribute to the victims and heroes of 9-11 by presenting limited-edition desktop versions of artist Jon Krawczyk’s St. Peter’s R.C. Church 9-11 Cross sculpture to Borough President James P. Molinaro; Assistant Chief Kevin P. Ward, Staten Island borough NYPD commander, and Deputy Assistant Chief Michael Marrone, Staten Island borough FDNY commander.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The commitment of Christo and Ms. Hamilton to personally involve themselves in their community has influenced the way DOORtoDOOR has done business since its inception.

“We’re more than about architecture and design, or brick and steel; we are about people, about lives, about families,” Christo said. “That’s why our job isn’t done when a project is completed. We stay on to make sure the lifestyles and services envisioned by our clients and tenants fulfill their greatest expectations. We remain, we supervise, we manage.”

Following construction, from concept through completion of a project, DOORtoDOOR remains on site providing owner-clients with a myriad of property management services.

Now – for the first time – DOORtoDOOR is offering its management skills to others, providing such services as: Diligently addressing vacancies; handling all bookkeeping; maintaining the upkeep, cleanliness and safety of the site; attending to tenants’ quality-of-life issues; utilizing DOOR2DOOR’s state-of-the-art software, which integrates client, tenant and management-company communications; administrating risk management and insurance; supervising evictions, and ensuring all tradesmen working on the premises are licensed and insured, and all work is code compliant with the city Department of Buildings.

DOOR2DOOR Property Management fees range from as little as $99 per unit, with multifamily discount available.
