Attending the event will be keynote speaker Fredrik Eklund of Bravo TV’s “Million Dollar Listing New York,” who will discuss the tenets of local and international transactions.

This year’s symposium will be held for the first time at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terr. in the Staten Island community of Livingston. The gathering will include breakfast, and seminars throughout the day in the Great Hall; lunch at the Chinese Scholars Garden, and a cocktail reception in the Tuscan Garden.

“Snug Harbor provides a spectacular setting for a spectacular event,” said, Sari Kingsley, chairwoman of the event. “Each of our guest speakers has been carefully selected to ensure those attending are fueled with the enthusiasm and knowledge required for succeeding in today’s global marketplace. Whether your business centers on  real estate or another industry, you will benefit from the information provided at this very special event.”

Twenty-seven percent of U.S. Realtors reported working with an international client in the past years, according to the National Association of REALTORS®. Guests at the symposium will learn from experts how to leverage the New York City marketplace to take advantage of this growing opportunity.

“As worldwide commerce continues to transition, it becomes essential for forward-thinking Realtors and others associated with the housing industry to understand the ins and outs of global commerce,” said Traci Cangiano, president of SIBOR. “Our Global Real Estate Symposium provides a pathway of useful information for those wanting to expand their international business relationships.”

The symposium will cover a range of topics and provide ample networking opportunities for attendees.

Complementing Eklund’s presentation, topics at the symposium will include: Residential and commercial trends in the global arena; the economic development of Staten Island; the cultural hub of Snug Harbor; funding issues related to international transactions; international buying and investing in New York City; technology tools for international transactions; cultural factors in global negotiations, and representing the foreign purchaser in the legal world.
