STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – From lowered crime to hiked property taxes, from smoke-free meals to brand new parks, Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s legacy touched Staten Island in many ways.

Some were good, some were unpopular, and maybe some will look better in the rear view mirror – but for the elected officials who served in city government with him, his legacy here will, on balance, be a positive one.
