STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Real estate professionals and others making a positive mark in Richmond County were lauded this morning [Oct. 25)] by the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR).

The award presentations took place at the Grand Oaks Country Club, Huguenot, during SIBOR’s Annual Membership Meeting. The meeting was officiated by SIBOR President Frank Rizzo and CEO Sandy Krueger.

Recognized with awards that were kept under wraps until the honor ceremony were Joseph Tsomik of Homes R Us Realty of NY, presented with the SIBOR’s Realtor of the Year Award, and Maurice (Moe) Molcho of American Homes Group, recognized with SIBOR’s 2022 “Global Achievement” Award for navigating international transactions by successfully applying his knowledge about global real estate opportunities in the local market.

SIBOR’S William (Bill) Coull Realtor Service Award was presented to Michael R. Diaz of Village Realty of Staten Island. The award is given to a SIBOR Realtor who has distinguished him or herself for many years in service to the industry and the community. The late Coull, for whom the honor is named, was a founding member of the Staten Island Multiple Listing Service (SIMLS) and the Richmond County Real Estate Institute.

“It’s easy to overlook the important contributions people make to the community and their industry. This is our opportunity to do so,” CEO Sandy Krueger said. “We are extremely proud of all the honorees and the work they do.”

Also honored during the breakfast reception were Brian Laline,executive editor of the Staten Island Advance and SiLive, whoearned this year’s Community Service Award, and Daniel Bentson, owner of Home Insurance Agency, presented with SIBOR’s Affiliate of the Year Award.

The spotlight remained upon community service as SIBOR’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) made a $15,000 presentation to the Children At Play Early Intervention Center, a Graniteville-based organization providing services for children with special needs. Earmarked for the renovation of a playground run by the center, the money was generated by SIBOR’s recent “Golf Day and Casino Night” fundraiser.
