STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Relief from the steep toll hikes to cross spans into New Jersey is on the way, Borough President James P. Molinaro pledged today.

And it could be coming soon.

By the time the Port Authority meets again on the issue next week, there may be a workable proposal on the table for what Molinaro characterized as “relief for frequent commercial drivers over the bridge and for residents.”
