STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) takes pride in our borough’s hosting of the Miss New York Pageant.
The latest edition of the Miss New York Pageant concluded Saturday evening with Miss New York City Mallory Hagan being crowned as Miss New York 2012.
The event, held in the St. George Theatre in Staten Island, N.Y., was co-hosted by Claire Buffie, Miss New York 2010, and Hunt Ethridge, a Mr. New York 2011 finalist. The first runner-up was Miss Manhattan Katie Berry. The other runners-up were:
- Miss Greater Rochester Nina Davuluri, second
- Miss Brooklyn Maria DeSantis, third
- Miss Niagara Desiree Wiley fourth
Each of the women received scholarship prizes. The newly crowned Miss New York was presented with a $10,000 scholarship, the largest in the pageant’s history. She will represent New York in the Miss America Pageant, which will take place Jan.12 in Las Vegas.

The Miss New York Pageant, an official preliminary of the Miss America Organization, awards scholarships every year to young women. At a local, state and national level, the pageant system gives the women an opportunity to promote a platform of community service. Miss New York will compete for the title of Miss America, which will be broadcast live on ABC TV.
The Miss New York Scholarship Organization provides viable educational opportunities to the young women of New York through scholarships, service and volunteerism.
