Staten Island’s Open House Weekend, Aug. 19-20, Offers Buyers Easy Access to Local Housing Market
Staten Island Multiple Listing Service provides Islandwide real estate initiative benefiting homebuyers and home sellers
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2023) – If you are shopping for a new home, the Staten Island Multiple Listing Service (SIMLS) is providing an opportunity you won’t want to miss: Open House Weekend.
The largest coordinated event of its type in the borough, the real estate-shopping opportunity will take place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19 and 20, as Staten Island Realtor subscribers of the SIMLS hold open houses throughout the Island.
During the weekend, Staten Island real estate professionals will be on hand at the open houses to provide tours and address homebuyers’ questions, bringing attention to the many benefits of homeownership.
Open houses provide a convenient opportunity for consumers in the local community to connect with the borough’s real estate experts and ask questions about the homebuying process and housing issues that matter most to them.
Prior to the springtime SIMLS Open House Weekend in April, Staten Island MLS Chairman of the Board Frank Reali stated, “Forty-four percent of recent buyers used open houses as a way to find their dream home. Open House Weekend is a great chance for buyers to do just that, as well as get an idea of what they can afford on the Island. It’s also an opportune time for sellers to market their home and attract potential buyers.”
The SIMLS website, MLSsiny.com, provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date public display of Staten Island home listings available to consumers. As an organization, SIMLS is a hub through which more than 275 local real estate firms work on behalf of sellers and buyers to exchange information on properties for sale and for rent.
“If you are selling your home, make sure to ask your Realtor if they are a subscriber of the Staten Island MLS, and discuss being included in Open House Weekend,” Reali advised.
