SIBOR seeks to ensure storm-impacted Staten Islanders get their share of Sandy-relief funds

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.  – Members of the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) recently gathered in Washington, D.C., with more than 9,000 Realtors® from across the nation.

The annual conference, held during the week of May 13, is known as the Realtors® Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo. The event, coordinated by the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), brought the Island Realtors to Capitol Hill, where they spoke with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) and Rep. Michael  Grimm (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn) about critical housing and private-property issues, such as: Ensuring storm-impacted Staten Islanders get their share of Sandy-relief funds; mortgage finance reform, tax laws for homeownership and real estate investment, and keeping the Federal Housing Administration single-family mortgage program affordable.
