STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (April 27, 2012) — The Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) and two of its members were honored earlier this week by the Staten Island Economic Development Corp.
During the SIEDC’s annual business conference, held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield, Robert Fitzsimmons Jr. of Gateway Arms Realty received an SIEDC 20 Under 40 Recognition Award, honoring young leaders whose actions make an impact on their community.
The Best Companies to Work for on Staten Island awards celebrated local businesses and their achievements, including the Staten Island Board of Realtors® and Gillani Homes Inc.
Gateway Arms Realty Corp. was founded in 1977 by Robert J. Fitzsimmons, who developed the highly successful and respected firm from a modest start. Robert J. Fitzsimmons Jr. later joined his father, with a passion for the business. Both determined to make a positive mark in their community while providing a vast amount of services to buyers, sellers, investors, property owners and tenants. They continue to accomplish this with the highest level of knowledge, integrity and professionalism.
Since its inception in March, 2008, Gillani Homes Inc. has been at the forefront of the Staten Island real estate scene. Dil Gillani, owner/broker of Gillani Homes started the company with three agents; it has grown to over 35 agents. The success of the company has afforded Gillani homes the means to give back to the community it serves by donating 1 percent of its earned commissions to charities of the client’s choosing.
