The award presentations took place Oct. 18 in the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield, during SIBOR’s Annual Membership Meeting.

Rosanne La Fata, 2023 president of the Staten Island Board of Realtors®, addresses attendees during the organization’s Annual Membership Meeting that was recently held in the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield.

This year’s recipient of SIBOR’S William (Bill) Coull Realtor Service Award was George K. Wonica of Wonica REALTORS & Appraisers. Lauren M. Wonica Orosz accepted the award on behalf of her father, who was unable to attend the ceremony due to a scheduling conflict.

The award is given to a SIBOR Realtor who has distinguished him or herself for many years in service to the industry and the community. The late Coull, for whom the honor is named, was a founding member of the Staten Island Multiple Listing Service (SIMLS) and the Richmond County Real Estate Institute.

Think Mortgage received the SIBOR Affiliate of the Year recognition. Accepting the honor on behalf of the company were Anthony Focca, president, and Lawrence Ambrosino, senior vice president.

Also honored during the breakfast reception was The GRACE Foundation of New York, which earned this year’s Community Service Award for its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for children, teens, adults and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The award was presented to Cathy Del Priore, executive director of the foundation, who accepted on behalf of the organization.

“True success in business isn’t just measured by profits alone, but by the positive impact we make in our communities,” said Sandy Krueger, CEO of SIBOR. “Those who give back with passion and purpose are the real heroes of the business world. Today’s honorees truly exemplify those traits.”
