Autos, motorbikes will take center stage on

Sept. 22, second day of 3-day event

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.  – Seeking to quench your thirst for the open road, while satisfying your appetite for all things Italian? Then you won’t want to miss The Italian Cultural Foundation’s upcoming celebration at Casa Belvedere on Staten Island.

On the weekend of Sept. 21, 22 and 23, the sprawling lawns of the picturesque hilltop mansion will present Motori D’Italia — Exotic Italian Car & Motorbike Show – as a highlight of its annual Festa D’Italia.

A sampling of the alluring vehicles will appear throughout the weekend festival, with the highlight of the eye-candy motoring event taking place on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. only, when the exotics will increase in number and be showcased throughout the day.

TONY LO BIANCO

Joining the visitors at Saturday’s celebration will be award-winning actor of stage and screen, Tony Lo Bianco, grandmaster of the three-day Festa D’Italia.

Lo Bianco is gearing up for the fall, when he will resurrect his award-winning stage performance as legendary New York Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia in a limited-engagement of “The Little Flower.”

The show will be presented at the Dicapo Opera Theatre, Manhattan, on select dates from Oct. 23 through Nov. 2.  For ticket information and to learn more about the show visit http://tonylobianco.com/The-Little-Flower.html.

CLOSE-UP LOOK

Motori D’Italia is sponsored by Ferrari Maserati of Central New Jersey.

“We are delighted to once again offer this exclusively Italian showcase, which annually pays tribute to some of the auto industry’s greatest marquees,” said Michael Pucciarelli, Motori D’Italia chairperson.

The display will provide an opportunity to get a close-up look at some of the most distinctive — new and classic – Italian performance cars, luxury automobiles and motorbikes available, such as Alfa Romeos, Ferraris, Fiats, Lamborghinis, Lancias, Maseratis, Vespas and Ducatis.

FESTA D’ITALIA

All three days of the family-oriented Festa D’Italia, sponsored by the Manfredi Auto Group, will feature music and entertainment, Italian specialty foods and pastries, wine tasting, art exhibits, culinary demonstrations, games, rides, crafts, fun-filled all-you-can-eat contests, and more. In addition, the Manfredi Auto Group has arranged for The Italian Cultural Foundation to raffle off a 2012 Fiat 500 POP, with the proceeds being donated to the Foundation.

All event ticket holders will earn a chance to win a 7 day/6 nights travel package for two to Rome and Florence, courtesy of Ciao Italy and Carrani Tours. The package includes airfare; first-class accommodations at Hotel Empire Palace in Rome and Hotel De La Ville Florence; train transportation, and tours.

Casa Belvedere is located at 79 Howard Ave., in the Staten Island community of Grymes Hill.

Admission to any one day of the event is only $10 for adults; children 12 and under, accompanied by an adult, are admitted free of charge.

Festa D’Italia hours are: Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday (Motori D’Italia day), 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For additional information about Motori D’Italia and Festa D’Italia, The Italian Cultural Foundation may be reached at 718-273-7660.
